By submitting to the DC Palestinian Film & Arts Festival (DCPFAF), you agree to the following terms and conditions below.

WORKS-IN-PROGRESS

 

At least one of the following roles in the production of the film MUST be filled by a person who self-identifies as Palestinian and may be living anywhere in Palestine or around the world in the diaspora:

  • Writer

  • Director

  • Producer

• All foreign language entries MUST be subtitled in English
• Shorts must be 40 min. or less / Features must not exceed 120 min.


 

Online materials must be sent through Vimeo (preferred), YouTube or a streaming service that does not require a paid subscription. Entries should be password-protected and unavailable for public viewing. We request that links be active through August 4, 2017. DCPFAF, its directors and volunteer reviewers are not responsible for broken, expired or incorrectly submitted URLs or passwords.

NOTE: Physical screeners are accepted on a case-by-case basis and will not be returned.


 

Works-in-progress are accepted, but MUST be noted as such on the screener.

  • If not noted, we assume that we have received the final cut.

  • Upon submission, indicate what will change, i.e. sound design, color grade, etc.

Final cuts MUST be submitted by 11:59pm EST on September 22, 2017 or films risk disqualification

PUBLICITY MATERIALS

Submissions run from March 20, 2017 at 9am to July 7, 2017 at 11:59pm EST.

  • Early Deadline (May 5, 2017): $10 USD

  • Regular Deadline (June 16, 2017): $15 USD

  • Late Deadline (July 7, 2017): $20 USD

  • Student & Youth (18-): FREE (with valid student ID or enrollment verification)

All films must be received by 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time (EST) on specified deadlines to qualify for each respective fee. If the filmmaker requests a fee waiver for financial reasons, please contact programming@dcpfaf.org. Application materials will not be returned.

Entry fees are per film and non-refundable. The DC Palestinian Film & Arts Festival reserves the right to disqualify a submission, without refund of any kind, if eligibility requirements are not met including if eligibility status changes post-submission.

SUBMISSIONS RECEIVED AFTER 11:59PM ON JULY 7, 2017 WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED

Selection notices will be sent out by August 4, 2017.

If selected, final exhibition materials must be received by 11:59pm EST on Sept. 22, 2017
Mailed materials must be postmarked no later than Sept. 22, 2017


 

If selected, the entrant grants DCPFAF the right to use the film’s publicity materials (i.e. press kits, posters, stills, trailers etc.) for promotional purposes, including screeners for publicity/media.

NOTE: Publicity materials may either be provided with the submission entry (preferred) or after the film is selected for exhibition. Do not send film prints, master tapes or other originals.

Any and all promotional media (stills/imagery, posters, flyers, video etc.) submitted to the festival must be in high-resolution format (Photos: 300 dpi / Videos: 720p minimum). Preferred transfer methods are Google Drive or Dropbox, but other forms (i.e. WeTransfer) accepted.


LEGAL

I certify that I hold all necessary rights for the submission of this film/video; have read and accept the terms of DCPFAF; and all the information provided in this Entry Form is complete and correct. I will provide DCPFAF with any additional information required.

By agreeing to these terms, I transfer to DCPFAF the right to use, duplicate and edit the submitted film for the purposes of publicity and media for the Festival, and for other uses related to the promotion of the event. I hereby agree to indemnify DCPFAF in the event that such rights have not been properly transferred.

I hold the DC Palestinian Film and Arts Festival, its officers, as well as any of its fiscal sponsors and affiliated entities, harmless from any damage to, or loss of, any materials submitted, whether that damage/loss occurs en route to or from the Festival or during the course of the Festival’s possession of said materials.


I grant the Festival permission to keep the submitted material in the Festival library to be available for research, education, and/or non-commercial screenings.
