We’re growing our 2026 team!
DCPFAF is now accepting applications for two year-round volunteer positions: Social Media Coordinator & Grants Coordinator.
These volunteer roles are ideal for people who are collaborative, organized, and passionate about arts, culture, and community-driven work. Volunteers typically participate in regular planning meetings, with increased involvement as the festival approaches.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Social Media Coordinator
We’re seeking a volunteer to manage and maintain our social media accounts year-round. This volunteer will play a key role in shaping our digital voice, keeping our community engaged, and leading social media efforts during the festival.
Location: Remote (DMV preferred) must be in DC for October Festival
Hours: 8-10 hours/ month
Team: Communications

Creating and implementing a year-round social media strategy
Posting regularly on social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
Responding to comments and DMs in a timely and thoughtful way
Design/video editing work, as needed (using Canva or similar tools)
Writing clear, engaging captions and short-form copy, as needed
Managing the festival’s social media accounts throughout the year
Being available to be in-person for events; including the October 2026 festival, dates TBA
Leading and coordinating other social media volunteers during the festival

Are detail-oriented and comfortable with digital tools
Can manage timelines and enjoys work that keeps a creative project running
Can commit to year-round involvement (approx 8-10 hours/month, with exception to the festival)
Are collaborative, responsive, and excited to join a volunteer-run team
Have a strong understanding of Palestinian history, arts, movement for liberation and passionate about Palestinian storytelling and arts
Grants Coordinator
We’re seeking a volunteer to join DCPFAF’s development team to support our fundraising efforts. This year-round volunteer will help ensure the sustainability of the festival by researching, writing, submitting, and managing grant applications and awarded grants.
Location: Remote (DMV preferred). Must be in DC for the festival.
Hours: 8-10 hours/month; September to October: 40 hours/month

Preparing and maintaining grants calendar that manages proposal and report deadlines and tracks results of grants awarded and denied.
Managing a portfolio of current and prospective private foundation and government funders.
Researching and identifying grant opportunities from government and private sources.
Writing and submitting grant proposals in line with funder guidelines and deadlines.
Monitoring the implementation of grant awards and ensuring post-award compliance.
Preparing compelling, clear, and accurate written materials for grant reports, in keeping with funder guidelines and deadlines.
Contribute to the development of fundraising strategies and initiatives.
Work with the Treasurer to manage all annual data collection activities for grant submissions, reporting and for DCPFAF’s public annual impact report.
